Windows 98 Dial-up Networking Configuration |

Step 1: Double click
on My Computer

| Step
2: Enter a name for this connection. Select the correct modem from the list. Click next to continue.

Step 3: Type in the area code for your city and your closest POP number obtained from Efunda Internet Services. Select South Africa as the country code. For a list
of POP numbers Click next to continue.

Step 4: A new window will appear, informing you that a new dial up networking connection has successfully been created. Click Finish to Continue.

Right click on the
new connection icon in the DUN folder and select properties from the
menu that pops up.

Under the General TAB you will find the Area code and Phone Number fields. Make sure that the POP number supplied by the service provider is typed in where it indicates Telephone Number. However if they are dialing from the same area, disable the use area code and country code option, just below the Country code. Click on the Server Types tab at the top to continue.

Ensure the type of
dial up server is PPP:Windows 95 or 98,NT etc... Click the TCP/IP Settings TAB to continue.

Server assigned IP address must be enabled as an IP address cannot be specified. Directly above Primary
DNS, enable Specify Name Server Addresses. Click Ok and then Ok again to continue to Dial Up Process.

In the DUN Folder, double click on the Efunda connection icon and enter the username and password as shown in the image. Please ensure that the username inputted is the one supplied by Efunda and not the one in the image. Once your username and password is entered click on connect to dial into the internet. |
